Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
I have a dirt farm. No really. The constant rains and storms washed out over half of my flower garden and the gravel paths over the last few weeks so I replanted this weekend but so far, not much is thriving except for weeds and veggies. The Foxglove, Sweet William, Snap Dragons and Forget Me Nots never stood a chance and so to avoid large patches of nothing I have strewn about large quantities of wild flowers from various mixes such as humming bird mix, butterfly mix, and more general sunny and shady mixes. At this point I will be happy to have just about anything.
The Morning Glories, Marigolds, and Zinnias all are growing along just fine though so there is a bright side and our tomatoes are loving this humidity! I can’t wait for the tomatoes to start blooming and producing fruit, it just isn’t summer until I can walk out into the yarn and pick a juicy tomato for dinner.
I was hoping to have lovely photos of our Mad Hatter Tea Party Garden for you by now but alas, I will spare you the agony of photographs of dirt, gravel and weeds.
As long as the rains hold off tonight, I will have a chance to take photos of the first batch of weekend dyeing and get some new sock yarn posted to the shop. Until then, check out the upcycled yarn, it is yummy too and it is great for the environment. Recycle, reduce, reuse!
