Project Updates 1/14/11

Happy New Year! Getting yarn clubs out over the holidays meant that our house & the blog was in a constant state of disarray but I was tickled pink at January’s colorways! I am trying to keep on top of stock in the shop but it clears out about as fast as I can put it in! I have updated the shop’s previous colorways page – quite a few of these colorways can be reproduced so if you are bummed out that you missed one just contact me and we can work out a custom dye. There is no extra fee for custom dye jobs but it may take 5-7 days for it to ship. If you see something you love please don’t hesitate to send me a message! There are some club colorways on the page and those will remain unavailable to those who aren’t members until 6 months after shipping. Don’t miss out on future club yarns, join one today!

Ok, enough about the shop, how about some FOs!

My last holiday gift was completed and sent to it’s recipient and those slouchy armwarmers were really fun to make. Since the recipient loves purple, they were in a custom dye on Heart You. I used a free Lion Brand pattern originally written for their Magic Stripes yarn which is now discontinued and a size 3 US circular needle to magic loop them.

I did manage to get the childrens’ gifts completed just in time for Christmas and by just in time I mean I was up knitting until 2am Christmas morning. Hey, at least they were completed! Boy Genius’ rainbow almost-to-the-knee socks came out really great and the little Princess’ sock monkey is looking pretty stylish herself. I still have the rest of her clothes to make but one project at a time – some of those outfits are in colorwork!

I hope your holidays and new years were safe and warm and full of yarnie goodness. This week I am on a mitten kick, dyeing up some dreadful zombie yarn, and filling reorders for club colorways. Stop by the NGY Rav group and share your recent FOs and tell us what you are working on!
