Knitting 101 Class – Enrollment Open

Knitting 101 ClassWant to learn to knit? Has it been so long since you last tried that you can’t remember but are itching to try it again? The Knitting 101 Class may be right up your alley!

The Knitting 101 course is geared to those who are brand new to knitting or need a “from the top” refresher.  In this two week class you will learn how to cast on, knit and purl stitches, how to gauge your knitting, and how to read a pattern. For those that are looking for a beginner+ level, you will get a refresher on the afore mentioned topics and learn how to knit in the round.

The class is two weeks: Saturday May 3rd and Saturday May 10th from 10am – 12pm at the Nerd Girl Yarns Studio in Odessa, Missouri. Space is limited to only 10 students to ensure everyone will get individualized attention. Cost for the class is $40 payable in person or online.Materials are not included, please download the flyer for the supplies list. You may bring your own materials or purchase a kit for the class.

Nerd Girl Yarns kits are available for purchase at a special price which include a project bag, knitting needles, large-eyed blunt needle, hand dyed superwash merino yarn in the colorway of your choice (from the NGY online shop) and a stitch marker. Kit prices range from $22-$40 depending on the supplies needed for the pattern/project you have chosen. If you choose to pay for the supplies online instead of in person I will contact you via the email you use to confirm your colorway selection.

Celia Jones is an experienced & knowledgeable knitting instructor having taught knitting for the last 9 years and has been an independent knitting pattern designer since 2008. She learn to knit 25 years ago and believes resurgence of hand crafts is exciting and inspiring. She says art of knitting can be traced back to early Egypt but the craft has never had more endless possibilities.
